Help! I have a 3 yr old male cat that has just strted peeing in the floor. He has once right out side his box, and three times in the bathroom across the house. He has never had accidents before and always been a wonderful companion. If anyone has any idea why this started or how to end it i would really apreciate the help.

If he is making frequent attempts to urinate, or any blood is present, rush him to a vet. He could have a urinary tract infection, crystals, or stones which can be life-threatening (and painful!) A vet check would be good even if you don't feel that his situation is an emergency. Inappropriate urination can indicate a health problem.
If a medical problem is ruled out, determine if any changes have occurred in the home. These could include changes in residents, other pets, routines and schedules, new furniture or carpet, cat litter, cat's diet, etc.. He may even be seeing a new cat or other animal outside a window that is causing him stress! Please let me know how this turns out! |

We made a visit to the vet and he has a UTI and a kidney stone. He's on antibiotics for the UTI and they changed him to a special food to help break down the kidney stone. Things have been much better around the house and he already seems to be feeling normal. Thanks so much!
