On Friday my cat had an endoscope by a local vet. He said that he has severe ulcers in his stomach and esophagus. He recommend I take my cat to the vet school at Illinois State University. So I took him down there Friday evening and they put him in ICU. They put him on fluids because he was dehydrated. They also gave him medicine both thru the IV and orally to calm his intestinal track. The vet on duty called me twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday to let me know that he was doing okay. And that he had eaten and had not yet thrown anything up. Today his care was going to be turned over to the internal medicine group. I was very happy with the fact that the vet called me several times to let me know he was okay. That really meant a lot. Now I'm hoping that the ulcers can be healed and that there are no underlying causes for them such as cancer. I'll keep you posted. And thank you again for your response. Maybe me going thru this can help someone down the road if they have something simular happen.
