First you need to identify the type of worms that they are. Then we can go from there. What do they look like?

long string-like speghetti looking worms are round worms..most likely these would be the case with puppies..tapeworms look like little pieces of rice..a whole tapeworm (which unless the dog vomited it up is unlikely) is flat with segments..to treat roudworms vets usually give a liquid called strongid..it is a yellow bannana flavored liquid which you give once, then repeat in 10 days..i dont know what your vet charges for this, but typically it is not expensive..usually around $10...Also, if u have other dogs in the house they may need to be treated as well..it is a fecal-oral transmission..(like if your dog walked in the poo and licked his foot)..i think they also sell dewormers at pet stores, though i dont know how effective they are and would be cautious using something over the counter with puppies..good luck!
